Meet Dr. Michelle V. Carter Mother of NBA Legend, Vince Carter

Dr. Michelle Vernae Carter is the mother of retired 8-time NBA All-Star and 2024 Hall of Fame Inductee, Vince Carter. She is the executive director of the Embassy of Hope – A Vince Carter Foundation, the chief executive officer of Visions in Flight, Inc., advocate for education, and author.

Dr. Carter’s book, The Making of Vince Carter – A Basketball Mom’s Memoir, is an insightful biopic biography of Vincent Lamar Carter. Dr. Carter, a retired educator, holds an honorary doctorate degree (Business Administration). She holds membership and sits on several boards such as the Halifax Health Foundation, the Civic League of the Halifax Area, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Ridder Transformational Program, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
