2011 Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic
Vince Carter’s 2011 Embassy of Hope Foundation’s efforts to raise much-needed funds to help children and families in need concluded with the Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic. Following a successful Vince Carter Charity Gala, the Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic was held at LPGA International on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Golfers enjoyed a complete breakfast before teeing off at 8:30 a.m. and completed the day with a scrumptious luncheon buffet. This year, for the first time, golfers were treated to a few Florida “summer showers” on the course, but that actually helped to cool things off. Prizes were awarded to first, second, and third place foursomes as well as the longest drive and closest to the pin for both a female and a male. The golfers enjoyed their day out on the links to help the Embassy of Hope Foundation and the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA.
The foursome winning the tournament was from Halifax Health: Joe Eubank, Tim Phillips, Kenneth Staton, and Joe Petrock. Coming in second place was Jim Devis, Scott Fabulich, Paul Gulliksen, and Jamie Rountree. The third foursome was Brian Curtis’s group from Bright House Networks. Vicki Davis won the closest to the pin and longest drive for a female and Kenneth Staton won longest drive for a male.
