2012 Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic
On Sunday, July 15, 2012, one hundred golfers teed off for the Vince Carter Charity Golf Classic at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL. At the very beginning of the day, Joe Petrock, playing for Halifax Health, had everyone holding his/her breath when he almost made a $25,000 chip shot. Vince said that his team did pretty well, because his daughter, who is seven, made three putts!
Taking home the prizes were first place, the Bethune-Cookman University Athletics team, second place, the Halifax Health team, and third place, the Carter Electric team. Awards were also given for the male and female longest drive and closest to the pin. The golfers enjoyed a quick “grab and go” breakfast, 18 holes on the Legends’ course, and a delicious lunch buffet. Everyone is looking forward to next year’s golf outing.
Embassy of Hope thanks all of the golfers who entered the classic. Money raised from this event will benefit the Embassy of Hope Foundation Scholarship Fund and women’s and children’s programs.
