Vince Carter’s Embassy of Hope Foundation Honors Outstanding Community Leaders

Vince Carter’s Embassy of Hope Foundation awarded Hyatt and Cici Brown and Nancy Lohman its Embassy of Hope Foundation Hall of Fame Award on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Vince Carter Charity Gala, presented by Brown & Brown and Halifax Health. “The Browns and Nancy Lohman exemplify my foundation’s mission of helping those less fortunate and giving of themselves for the betterment of our community,” said Carter, a former NBA All-Star and member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Vince Carter Charity Gala, a black-tie optional affair in its 18th year, was held at the Ocean Center Daytona from 7-11 p.m. and included entertainment by The Love Band, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions and lots of fun for attendees. “This gala is one of my favorite fundraising events,” said Carter. “It’s an opportunity for people to come together, enjoy themselves and help us raise money for local programs within our community.”

Proceeds benefit children and family programs and the Embassy of Hope “Believing in Your Dreams” Scholarship Fund. Since its inception in 1998, Carter’s Embassy of Hope Foundation has donated funds to over 200 local programs.
