From the Heart to the Home: Embassy of Hope Foundation’s Believing in Christmas Food Giveaway

On Saturday, December 20, 2025, Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Vince Carter and the Embassy of Hope Foundation once again brought the spirit of the season to life through the annual Believing in Christmas Food Basket Giveaway. In partnership with Publix Super Markets, this cherished holiday tradition took place at the Vince Carter Athletic Center on the campus of Mainland High School where hope, generosity, and community were on full display.
Embassy of Hope advisory board members, and dedicated volunteers came together to distribute abundant food baskets to families and organizations serving those in need. Each basket included a gift card to purchase a turkey or meat of choice, white and sweet potatoes, onions, celery, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, eggs, margarine, and more. Families also received pumpkin pies graciously donated by SouthState Bank, helping to complete a traditional holiday meal.
“This is a small piece of what we can do for our community,” shared Vince Carter. “Being able to put a good meal on the table—where family and friends can gather—is so important.”
Food baskets were distributed to pre-selected individuals and community partners, including Children’s Home Society, Halifax Health Hospice, and Family Renew, ensuring that the reach of this effort extended to those who needed it most during the Christmas season.
Vince Carter and the Embassy of Hope Foundation extend heartfelt holiday blessings to all and wish everyone good health, peace, and prosperity in the New Year.
