Believing In Christmas 2023

Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame nominee, Vince Carter, still makes Christmas special for families in Volusia County. On Wednesday, December 20, 2023, Vince’s Embassy of Hope Foundation in partnership with Publix Supermarkets distributed food baskets to individuals to brighten the holidays for them.

Along with members of the Embassy of Hope Advisory Board, students from the Academy of Law and Government at Atlantic High School, and a few volunteer friends of EOH, distributed plentiful food baskets containing a Publix gift card to purchase a turkey or meal of choice, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, celery, stuffing mix, canned vegetables, eggs, margarine, apple pie and more to groups feeding families needing assistance this Christmas season. As Vince said, “This is a small piece of what we can do for our community. Being able to put a good wholesome meal on the table where family and friends can gather is so important.”

Just as Vince is always thinking of others and providing for them, Volusia County will be awaiting the Hall of Fame finalists’ announcement during NCAA March Madness and the enshrinement on August 17th in Massachusetts.
