VINCE CARTER’S 2011 CHARITY GALA

On Saturday, March 5, 2011, while bikers were converging on Daytona Beach and surrounding areas, Vince Carter’s Charity Gala participants were kicking up their heels to the sounds of MPiRE, a nine-piece band that “really grooves” with great musicians, tight vocals and powerful horns, at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. The black tie optional affair also featured Rock DeMarco, billed as the “Fastest Painter in the World,” who created two paintings as guests watched in awe. The night to remember included a silent auction and a live auction featuring the two DeMarco paintings and signed memorabilia from Chipper Jones. It was an exciting evening, even though guests for the first time in fourteen years had to hear from Vince via electronic media as he thanked everyone for his/her continued support of his efforts to positively impact his community. Everyone seemed to enjoy the lively dancing, socializing, and raising funds for the Embassy of Hope Foundation and the events’ beneficiaries. The 2011 beneficiaries of the Embassy of Hope annual fundraisers are the Volusia Flagler Family YMCA and the Vince Carter $5000 “Believing In Your Dreams” Scholarship Fund. These beneficiaries provide positive youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility and the opportunity for a male and female graduating senior from a Volusia County school to receive a $5000 scholarship to continue his and her education at an institution of higher learning.
